Conway’s Law states that "organizations which design systems ... are constrained to produce designs which are copies of the communication structures of these organizations.” If we want to build systems that are open and collaborative, then we need to use communication systems that are open and collaborative. We can be intentional about designing open and collaborative systems by copying open source principles when we work.
